New dance schedule for 2015 below - join us!

Everyone who wants to dance or learn Bulgarian folk dance is welcome! We enjoy a potluck and ask a suggested donation of just $5 to help with operating costs, but no one turned away! Come anyway! We have changed to once a month for now in 2015. (We were dancing every other Friday). However, as Thanksgiving and Christmas fall on the 4th weekends of the month this year, we will be switching up the schedule a little bit, so stay tuned for exact dates as they are set here:

We will dance on these dates so far:
  • Friday September 25th, 2015 7-9 pm
  • Friday October 23rd, 2015 7-9pm
  • Friday November 20th, 2015 7-9 pm featuring live music with Kafana Klub!
  • Friday December 18th, 2015 (before Christmas)
Further dates to be determined later in 2016.
Bring your dancing shoes & comfy clothes and a dish to share with friends and fellow dancers. All ability levels are welcome, we are very happy to help you learn the Bulgarian and other Balkan region folk dances we enjoy! (Macedonian, Greek, Serbian and Albanian among others). We also just enjoy spending time with Balkan music and dance friends and fans, even if you don't dance. Come join us!
Check out our Photo Gallery for some pictures and video from past folk dance parties and concerts featuring the lively & haunting music of Bulgaria and Macedonia and surrounding areas.

The Macedonian Schools Project

Many of our members have been happy to support The Macedonian Schools Project, a non-profit organization promoting international friendship and cultural exchange by assisting Macedonian Schools with donations, resources and networking opportunities. We invite you to check out the great work this organization is doing on behalf of children in Macedonia and feel free to support them directly yourself. They can use both monetary and in-kind donations. And they are also seeking volunteer English teachers for two week stays during the summer of 2016. Please see the flyer below for details on this great cross cultural opportunity.
